Tamati Te Kani has experience in cultural monitoring and Kaitiakitanga. He is a devoted father of four children and two mokopuna. He has always had a deep love for the taiao.
He enjoys hunting, fishing, diving and gardening. He is passionate about helping rangatahi find their direction and purpose and is dedicated to shepherding them to a positive path.
Dr. Ruahuihui Birney Ahomiro-Robinson
Co-Chairman, Māori Scholar | Educator | Advocate for Culturally Grounded Learning
Dr. Ruahuihui Birney Ahomiro-Robinson is a distinguished Māori scholar and educator whose work bridges Mātauranga Māori with contemporary educational practice. She holds a PhD in Education from Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, where her research focused on the use of wetlands as learning environments for rangatahi Māori. Her work highlights how natural spaces can support transformative, culturally grounded learning experiences that benefit both learners and the wider Māori educational landscape. Dr. Ruahuihui Birney Ahomiro-Robinson is deeply committed to empowering Māori communities through education that honours identity, connection to whenua, and cultural resilience. She brings academic excellence, leadership, and a strong kaupapa Māori foundation to her role—helping to shape learning environments where Māori youth can thrive. We are very honoured to have Dr. Ruahuihui Birney Ahomiro-Robinson as part of our board.
Jason Wilson
Treasurer Trustee
Jason Wilson graduated from Waikato University with a major in Accounting and has a diverse background as a business owner in the construction industry for nine years. Though he considers Tauranga home, he was brought up on the Kapiti Coast. Currently, he lives in Seoul, South Korea, where he works as an English teacher. Married with two children, he is deeply committed to the values and potential of Ngā Matarae Anamata Charitable Trust. As the treasurer of the trust, he brings his financial expertise and passion for community development to help guide their initiatives. Working with children has been an incredibly rewarding experience for him, and he is excited about the positive impact the trust can have on the lives of rangatahi. He believes in the power of their programs to foster resilience, environmental stewardship, and lifelong skills.
Corrine Mossop
Trustee
Corrine Mossop is based in Tauranga and has strong ties to the Bay of Plenty and its communities. Corrine is the founder of MarketStorey, a Tauranga-based digital marketing agency working with businesses to build practical, effective online systems. Her work focuses on website development, eCommerce, and brand strategy, and she brings strengths in project management, systems thinking, and data-informed decision-making. Alongside her business work, Corrine serves as Administrator for the Ruel Foundation, a charity that provides homes, care, and medical support for children in crisis in the Philippines. In this role she is responsible for financial administration, systems, and day-to-day organisational support, working closely with the wider team that leads sponsorship, fundraising, and on-the-ground care. She has a background in product development and design, having worked across fashion, footwear, handbags, furniture, and interiors. She has also worked with government ministers and policy makers in Fiji, where she developed, taught, and implemented a structured training programme, initially funded through the New Zealand Government’s PIDS scheme in 2001, that supported local artisans and community groups to bring traditional craft skills into market-ready products and sustainable income opportunities, alongside experience in rural business and farming. Corrine holds a postgraduate qualification in business management and is completing her Master of Business Management, majoring in digital marketing, at the University of Auckland. She is particularly interested in how strong governance, clear strategy, and good information can support better outcomes for rangatahi and their whānau. Corrine brings to Ngā Mātārae Anamata Charitable Trust a well-structured, organised, and practical approach, along with experience in strategy, operations, finance administration, and communications. She is committed to supporting the trust’s vision and strengthening its ability to deliver well-governed programmes for funders, partners, and the young people it serves.
